The Foundation for Community Development (FDC) and GIZ through the Energizing Development (EnDev) and Grüne Bürgerenergie (GBE) programs in Mozambique, as part of the launch of the first call for proposals from the FASER, “Sustainable Access to Renewable Energy “, a Results Based Financing (RBF) fund, invites the private sector to a roadshow to explain the different funding windows of the FASER, the procedures and requirements for the submission of applications.
The aim of the FASER is to stimulate the value chain and distribution of the renewable energy (RE) technology markets in Mozambique and to promote wider adoption of these technologies across the country, thus contributing to the Mozambican government’s efforts to achieve the ambitious goal. provide universal access to energy by 2030.
The Fund promotes the dissemination of high quality energy technologies in off-grid periurban and rural areas, as well as making these technologies more accessible to women. In addition, it aims to promote greater access to reliable, modern and safe energy for particularly vulnerable populations.
The fund will act as a catalyst to create clean and sustainable energy markets with a multi-sectoral approach, encouraging active private sector participation as well as stimulating productive uses of energy.
The RBF Fund will have a specific window to provide a platform for rapid response to humanitarian crises and to be able to ensure access to energy for affected populations. This window will initially focus on the regions most affected by IDAI cyclone in March 2019.
Eligible for the RBF Fund are Suppliers and Distributors of decentralized renewable energy technologies and energy solutions for productive use. Implementers may be Individual entrepreneurs, companies, associations, cooperatives, partnerships and / or consortia between local and international companies that conduct activities to sell eligible technologies to final consumers on a commercial basis.
